Dr. Ashley Zimmerman OD (Associate Optometrist)
Dr. Ashley Zimmerman values practicing as a family doctor with eye care that evolves as you and your family grow. With a special interest in pediatric optometry, she enjoys making the exam as fun as possible with young children by changing testing sequences into games.
Dr. Zimmerman also recognizes the impact technology and screen time have in our fast-paced world and seeks to provide patients the best glasses and contacts for comfortable computer use. Finally, as we age our eyes age–she also has valuable experiencing treating diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases.
Dr. Zimmerman was born in Pennsylvania and was drawn to the eye profession due to her own early onset high near-sighted prescription. At The University of Pittsburgh, she studied Biology and Chemistry in preparation for optometry school which she completed at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. During that time she had the opportunity to travel to Mexico to provide eye exams and free glasses to a rural community.
Dr. Zimmerman enjoys painting and urban gardening as well as reading and hiking. She also loves to travel and spending time outdoors, and aims to visit as many natural wonders as possible.
